Comments about this photo:
BILL IS RIGHT. OUR FAMILY JUST HAD THE DEDICATION OF OUR CIVIL WAR ANCESTERS BRAND NEW TOMBSTONE PROVIDED AND SHIPPED BY VETERANS ADMINISTRATION. WE PAID SOME EXTRA TO HAVE HIS WIFES NAME ENGRAVED ON THE BACK BY THE LOCAL ENGRAVERS AFTER STONE ARRIVED IN IOWA. SO NOW HENRY WALLACE, CO M, 11TH ILLINOIS CAVALRY, NO LONGER LIES IN AN UNMARKED GRAVE. Submitted by: JUDIFONS Aug 31, 2004

There is no reason why this soldier does not have a tombstone. Beautiful, military-type tombstones are furnished free of charge for any veteran, even if they fought on the side of the Confederacy. You should immediately contact your Veterans Administration with all necessary information and verification of being a veteran. You, as his decendent, should feel responsible for seeing that this old soldier is furnished with a tombstone. Now, DO IT. Submitted by: ksquail Jul 29, 2004
