Date taken : 1950 Description : In 1930, after her fourth husband, William C. Byce, had died in Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Belle left Georgia and established residence in Miami, Florida, to be near her daughter. On 11 April 1939, she joined the Mormon Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints there.
Ca 1948, Mary was visiting her son, originally Roy Bishop, then Roy C. Carroll in Pennsylvania, and the day before he was to take her to the airport to return to Miami, he was killed in a coal mine cave in.
Her other son William also predeceased her, but I do not know when or where he died or where he is buried. The last I know of him (in Dec 1948 in his half-brother's obituary) was that Will was still living in PA.
Eventually Mary Belle moved in with her daughter Mrs. Zella Churchill in Miami, and lived with her until her death 29 March 1954.
Zella died in 31 August 1867. They were both in turn, cremated and their ashes buried at the Green Lawn Buial Estates in Butler, PA.
This picture of Mary Belle is estimated as having been taken in 1950.
Mystery : Does anyone know the date that Roy C. Carroll died in the coalmine cavein, and where? Also, does anyone know where he is buried?
Does anyone know anything more about William Bishop, Mary Belle's son, e.g., whom he married, when he died and where he was buried?
