Date taken : September 1, 1899 1899 Description : This is the family of my great great uncle, George Washington Hogan, and great great aunt, Alie Elizabeth (Perdue) Hogan, around the turn of the century in Bedford County VA. George Washington, a farmer, was the son of Pasterick Washington and Nancy Jane (Gross) Hogan of Bedford County VA. Alie was the daughter of Giles H. Perdue and Sarah Jane (Wray) Perdue, both of Franklin County VA. Children not shown, John Thomas (b. 21 Oct 1880) and Albert Ross (b. 18 Jan 1897), died as infants. The fathers of both George and Alie were Confederate Civil War veterans and prisoners near the end of the war at Pt. Lookout MD.
