This is a picture of said to be of my great-great-great-great grandmother . Rhoda"Rosie" or " Rosa" Punhuff-Punthuff-Foothuff or Put-Off , etc . The records in both Estill County, KY and Lee County , VA say she was full blooded cherokee native american indian. She had several children by Crabtree Smyth . In 1838 -she - Crabtree Smyth , Polly Lambert and Robert Armstrong were brought up on adultry charges . She and Crabtree and left her children with his aunt Mary {Smyth} Pennington and "went west with a bunch of indians " which was most prob her family . The story goes they were never heard from again . If anyone has any information PLEASE contact me . I am happy to share with you . Thanks .
