My grandmother Helen Stream Huber was one of the first models for Marshall Fields of Chicago. Her father was John Stream from Sweden. I have no other info on her family except for a few un-named photos. Marshall Fields couldn't even help me because it was too long ago. The clippings may be from either the Chicago Tribune or the Washington Post?
Mystery :
The story goes...Helen couldn't have children, so her husband Morris Huber impregnated another woman & had twins--my father John Morris & his sister Jane, whom were adopted and brought to Kanakee to be raised by Helen & Morris. I have reason to believe Helen & Morris were too closely related to attempt having children. I also think the twin's real mother is also related to Morris but further through the family tree. My Aunt Jane, now deceased, came very close to finding the truth, but suddenly stopped her research. Word is...she didn't like what she found and dropped it. Everyone has now passed away, and I want to know.
