Photo of Colonel Charles Sweeny taken about the time he helped form The Eagle Squadron, American Pilots flying for the RAF before America entered World War II. He was threatened with the loss of his U.S. Citizenship for his recruiting of pilots because it was in violation of American Neutrality Laws. He had a strong conviction that Hitler must be stopped so he kept recruiting with the FBI hot on his trail. He was a remarkable brave man!
