Date taken : January 1, 1835 1835 Description : This is a photograph of my great-great-great grandfather, Captain John Henry Stout. According to his obituary, published in the Dallas Morning News on 3 January 1891, he died in his home in Quitman Texas on 27 December 1890 of heart failure. His age is stated in the obituary as 93 and a half years. He was an adventurer, explorer, Indian fighter, scout, Veteran of the Texas Revolution and the Confederacy, Captain of the Texas Rangers, first sheriff of Wood county, and served in the Texas House of Representatives, Sixth Legislature, 1855-1856, representing Wood and Van Zandt counties.

My great, great Grandfather was Captain Stout. Just recently I visited the Stout Cemetery and the Perryville Cemetery where a lot of my Stout relatives graves are. My Great Grandmother was Lillian Stout. She was married to William Tom Stout. My Grandmother was Margaret Stout Jackson. I took several pictures of the cemetery. My Great Aunt Ludeen Stout Patterson is still alive at the age of 84 also her brother Henry Stout. Submitted by: tunderwood Nov 29, 2007
