Hayden K. Monroe (haydenkmonroe@bellsouth.net)took this picture of the tombstone of William C. Carl and his third wife, Jane, in the Alton Cemetery on Alton-Darby Rd in Prairie Twp, Franklin Co, Ohio. William, born Aug 1, 1869, was the son of Christian aka Henry F. Carl and his wife, Anna Mary Selbert. He may have been a veteran of the Spanish American War, and his marker mistakenly put at the foot of his father's grave. He married 1) Doris Parker aka Dora on 11 Oct 1891, then 2) her sister, Jane Parker, then 3) another Jane, whose surname is unknown, who is buried with him. A biographical sketch about William, including that of his father and grandfather, appears in [Franklin County,Ohio's] CENTENNIAL BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY, on pp. 487-488.
