John Thomas Lambert was born in Georgia in 1822 and at the age of about 22 moved to Mississippi. His father was William Lambert and mother was Mary "Polly" Parker. He married Mary Ann Cole and had 14 children. Mary Ann died and John married Sarah Caroline Foster and they had 9 more children. John was in the Civil war on the gray side.
