I am grateful to Susan Carl who during her vacation travelled to Pennsboro, Missouri, and located and photographed this tombstone, which gives Arthur's birthdate as 26 Oct 1916 and his date of death as 1 Oct, 1999. Arthur was the son of Stephen J. Carl and Clara (Bowles), and married Annabelle Kilton on 15 July 1939, according to the sites of Holly Henderson (lionspridehn@peoplepc.com) on www.rootsweb.com. Arthur was a grandson of David Arthur Carl and Mary (Williams), whose tombstone is in front of his.
