Photo found in an antique shop in Thomasville, GA. Photographers mark: "WM McHENRY, PHOTOGRAPHER, FREEPORT, ILL." 1860 census says Mayer was born in 1839, PA. Parents: Jacob and Mary Mayer, born in PA. Residence in 1860 was Freeport, IL. There was a William B. Mayer who fought in the Civil War in the 92nd IL Infantry. Entered the service as a 1stSgt and left as a 2ndLt. If you want the photo, let me know.
