This daguerreotype of Mary Ann Ivey was taken about the time of her marriage to Joseph Hiram Johnson at Washington Street Methodist Episcopal Church, Petersburg, Virginia on June 8, 1854. Born in Tennesse,she was the daughter of George H.W.Ivey (1799-1839),and sister of George Whitfield Ivey(1832 - 1915). After the Civil War, Mary and Joseph settled in Richmond, Virginia where Mary Ann died in 1894.
