Mary Ann Ivey Johnson was the widow of Joseph Hiram Johnson. At the time of this photo, she had been predeceased by her husband and eight of her nine children. She lived with her surviving son, Asa Johnson in Richmond, Virginia. Born in Tennessee, she was married in Petersburg, Virginia and settled in Richmond after the Civil War.
