Rosh Hashanah New York
Rosh Hashanah in New York City, 1911. A young boy in a prayer shawl stands on the street outside a dressmaker's shop on the East Side. It looks as if the sign for the dressmaker's shop is in English and Hebrew (or Yiddish?).
Rosh Hashanah is Jewish New Year, hence the caption on the photo "Jew New Year." I don't know what book he is holding.
