Lucy (Roberts) HARRIS (1826-1906) wife of William Finch HARRIS (1822-1896, b. NY) told grandchildren, "Your ancestor was lodgekeeper on the palace grounds of the King of England."
Unfortunately, she didn't say which ancestor or which king. It is highly unlikely she was referring to one of her own ancestors or to William's mother's family - which leaves the Harrises. Does anyone else share this story?
