Looking for information on a John Fortner born Sept. 4, 1873 In tennessee from the Dickson County Tn. 1880 Census. In the 1900 census from Tenn. it lists John Fortner's mother as it looks like Freasy Fortner. But it is actually Theresa Fortner his foster mother who adopted him with her husband.Looking for who his real father and mother were. The 1880 census says his father was born in Ga. His mother it says was born in Tenn. He may have been called John W. Tatum when he was adopted. His adopted parents were Charles D.Fortner born 1838 and Theresa Parris born 1844. Since I posted the message about Freasy Fortner and who she was. I have found out that she was Teresa Fortner. John Fortner born Sept.4,1874 was a foster child of Charles Fortner 1838 and Teresa Parris Fortner. Lee Fortner fortner@netnitco.net
