Hugh Howard MacDonald was born c1870 to Hugh Sr. and Mary (Kenney).
When he was 16 or 17 he joined up with some friends on Halloween night. They proceeded to a farmer's house. They pulled the steps away from the porch, then began to make a great deal of noise. When the farmer ran out to see what was going on he fell off the porch. He fell awkwardly and later died of his injuries. The boys scattered. My ggrandfather, Hugh Howard, left Nova Scotia - never to return.
