William "Grancer" Harrison was born ABT 1789 in South Carolina, Old 96th Dist.. He died May 1860 in Coffee Co.Al. and was buired at Harrison Cem.in Kinston, Coffee Co. Alabama. He married Nancy Justice ABT 1808 in Adams Co. MS. They owned 2500 acres in Coffee Co. Grancer had a dance hall built on the property. He sent his grandson and a slave to Florida to get bricks for his tombstone. Said to have been buried on a feather bed. Dance hall now Cem. Said that Grancer haunts the Cem. and you can hear him playing fiddle at night. Nancy died before May 1867 buried in a vault next to Grancer. Boby's were placed in under ground vault in Dec.1996 due to being vandalized.
