Franz Louis Sack was born August 1, 1843 in Roglitz, Germany. In 1867 Franz came to America, sailed up the Mississippi River to the new frontier - Nebraska. Upon arriving in Lincoln, as a stone mason in Germany, was put to work as a mason building the state capital building. His dream was to file for 80 free acres of land and homestead. However, because of his profession, his dream never came true as the building of Nebraska came first.
