His mother is listed as "Martha" age 49 and was born in Alabama. He has two sisters, Martha age 8 and Susana age 2, both born in Alabama.

This census is poorly faded and very difficult to read. The following appears to be what I can make of this census. Nathaniel is 36 years of age born December 1863 in Alabama. Melissie is listed as 25 years of age and was born possibly in February 1875. The children appear to be Daniel age 2, born May 1898; Needham age 5 born October 1895; Mary (Maggie) age 3 born March 1897 and Jackson age less than 1 born November 1899. All of the children were born in Alabama.
