Alexander(Sandy) Goodwin and his wife Ann (Hutchison) came to Canada from Kilsyth, Scotland in 1821 aboard the ship named "The George Canning".
Sandy's first wife Ellen Dunn had passed away and they had a Family of four. Their daughter Jessie remained in Scotland, but Charles, Alexander, and Ellen (who later married James Lindsay) came to Canada with their father and his new wife. The family settled in the Ottawa valley, and most of them are buried in the Albert Street Cemetery in Arnprior, Ontario, Canada. Alexander and Ann had seven more children: David,b.1 Dec.1822,m.Mary Harvey,William,1823Ann-1826(m.Wm.Phillips),James-1830,Robert-1833,Margaret-1834 and John 1835, who died of Cholera at the age of 27. I am descended from David Goodwin and his wife Mary Harvey. Their family were: Alexander(Amelia Skuse),1851,John,1 Nov. 1853,(My Grandfather),James,Mary(Peter Little),David, Anne,Elizabeth,William,Dr.Robert. John and Margaret Frame's Family were: Mary Marion,Weir,Thomas,William,Charles,John Frame(my father)-1899,Jessie and Robert. John Frame Goodwin and Myrtle Selma (Sorgen) Goodwin's family are: Hazel Margaret-1923,Myrtle Marion-1924, John Gordon-1926, Hubert Orbin-1927, Gwenneth Jean-1929, Joyce Evelyn-1931, James Phillip-1934, Charles Edward-1936. I, Gwenneth Jean, married Clifford Frank Campbell(1924) Oct. 5, 1949. Our Children are: Scott Clifford-Feb.20,1961, Cal James-Feb17,1962 and Michelle Gwenneth-September 21, 1964. C.Frank Campbell and I have retired to a warm Valley in British Columbia and have been here for 12 years. We have been married for 56 years and are both in good health and enjoying life.
