homer was out in the field fighting combat,when he was attacked by the enemy. He was shot numerous times. He was also surverly injured by shrap-metal in his legs and head. He was left for dead. He managed of a two day period of time to drag himself all the way back to his base miles and miles away for madical attention. He then had surgery two remove half of his right lung and also had a metal plate placed in his skull making a full recovery. He went on to have 3 children Andrew,Helen,Vernon and he was awarded a Purple Heart!!!!!!!
