My name is Dave Lyons and I am searching for information about the Lace family. Shortly after I was born on 26 May 1955 in St Joseph's Hospital in Toronto, ON to Nora (Dolly) Smith of Ottawa, ON and Kenneth Lace (I assume also from Ottawa at the time) I was adopted into the Lyons' family. Under trying circumstances I discovered (at age 11 or 12 years old) that I was adopted. Since that time I have always been curious about my family heritage, however I felt that trying to find information about my "blood" relatives would be perceived as ungrateful to the parents that raised me and therefore I decided to not pursue my passion - to learn all I could about my origin.

When I was about 40 years old I began searching for any information I could find about my paternal father (Kenneth Lace), which led me to a small village in rural Quebec called Trout River. I am happy to say that in the spring of 1991 I did talk to him and was excited at the potential prospect of meeting his family some day, however for reason's of his own he did not want to introduce me to his family. Although I was disappointed we continued to stay in touch for a while through letters and an occasional phone call. Through Kenneth I did learn that I have 2 half sisters by his marriage to his current wife (don't know their names though) but it has been 5 years since I have been in contact with him and given his age I fear that he may be deceased. I recently tried to re-establish contact him but was unsuccessful.

I am now at a juncture where I would like to learn more about the Lace family with the hope of learning more about the family line and perhaps to meet some of my blood relatives. Is there anyone out there that can help?

To my knowledge Kenneth’s immediate family including his siblings, nieces and nephews reside in the Trout River, QC and Lunenburg, Bridgewater and Dartmouth, NS areas.
