In August 2004 a group of artists called Slowfall Projects held an event in St Augustines Tower in the middle of Hackney, the aim of the event was to gather stories from residents the residents of Hackney that concerned the tower. We collected a lot of stories, many of which are touching or funny, the stories are now on website http://www.storiesfromthetower.com created especially for them.
At the moment the artists involved are in the process of making a series of artworks based around the stories. If anybody has any stories about St Augustines Tower or Hackney in general, we are still collecting stories. I hope that people find the webiste interesting. Sorry if I am double posting this.
