I AM TRYING TO DO OUR FAMILY GENEALOGY FOR MY GRANDMOTER. WE ARE KAHUTS FROM WISCONSIN. MY GREAT GREAT GRANPARENTS CAME TO WISCONSIN AROUND 1870 FROM GERMANY. THEY SETTLED IN THE ARA OF ASHFORD WISCONSIN(UNINCORP CITY FOR FOND DU LAC) WISCONSIN I KNOW HIS NAME WAS ADAM AND HIS WIFES NAME WAS BARBARA AND HIS PARENTS NAME WERE ADAM AND ANNA IF ANYONE OUT THEY CAN HELP ME OR KNOW THAT THEY ARE FROM THERE PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

I'm doing resreach on Kahut's also. I live in Oregon. The research I have do show Kahut as being Czech - Bohemia. And there seems to be different spellings, even in your area of Wisconsin. i.e. Kohout, Kahout. There are many Kahuts in Oregon, especially between Salem and Portland. There is even an Adam Kahut in Canby, which is in between Woodburn and Portland.
