The mean of the word Pesek in Czech language could be the pawn from chess, or the soldier, most simple soldier who walks on foots. In Czech is this word today Pesec and in Slovak Pesiak and it sounds such concerning my good knowledge of these langauges and their variations in different areas. Mikulas Banic lead them there on the invitation of Illeshazys. 1615 it was town, today I think it is village. To Male /Little/ Canikovce came 8 families 1597 from Sisak. This comming was I suppose well after the battle at Mohac 1526 when Turks settled Croatia. So end of surnames -ic are of Croatian origin usualy says here.
