By the month of aperil of this year dI had acquired poutahi for Temau rakau, and third place for the Kapa haka festivals ki Hawaiiki nui. I am now suited and ready to BOOT with the 592nd Ord Co of the US Army. As such for duration of training I go through with the troops the movements for mau rakau., and these Americans just LAP it up....All Up! The fighting movement (Moari) are very different from the usual grind and bang of Jujitsu and Tae kuando, and I myself am just aghaust at the fervency of these US Military personnel for the fighting arts of the Maori.
