Comments about this story:
I am off of a Mo. Bounds family. My grandpa Wm. C. Bounds and his father took in children during the depression years that were abandoned. These children grew up and assumed the Bounds name. We are also Choctaw and Cherokee and Creek.I would suggest that you do a DNA test with www.familydna.com and let them know of your past from a possible Bounds Cousin. My grandfather Bounds lived in Redford , Mo and also owned land in Alabama, Miss. and Southern Mo that is not far from the state lines. They raised 13 children that were not theirs plus their own children.Due to their home burning down in 1940 we have few photos and records. The DNA test is wonderful! See if any Bounds is still in your area off of the adopted male Bounds ,and that person must still carry the Bounds name. then you will find your anscestors . Almost all Native Americans have been DNA tested on the Reservations. Females is only Mother to mother with no influence from the fathers DNA. Judy
