John Sellers was the son of John Sellars and Jane Carter, daughter of Mathew Carter, Rev. Soldier. Early Wiregrass researchers confused John with his older first cousin John Millender Sellars, son of Samuel Sellars and Mary Bishop (Wiregrass Books Vol. 3). John’s grandfather was Samuel Sellars, Rev Soldier of NC (Vol. 2).

John Sellers and Keziah Rowe with family are shown in the 1850 Census for Dist. 442, Appling Co., Georgia, page 13B and 14 (Ancestry.com Images 10 and 11).
In the 1850 Census of Appling County, Francis Sellers is enumerated with John Sellers’ family. Francis is not grouped by age with John’s children in the census, but added at the end of the household suggesting that he is not one of John’s children. By 1860, Francis was living with a Hughes family. He is believed to be a younger brother of John. Francis married Sarah McEachen (without a Smith middle name)d/o Archibald and Sarah McEachen. Francis/Frank Sellers was born 1836 and died during the Civil War on 18 October 1863 in Cassville, Georgia. He left a young widow Sarah McEachin with infant son, John Morgan Seller, born 11 August 1863 and lived his entire life with his large family in Appling County, Georgia. Information obtained from McEachin researcher.
John Sellers and family are shown in the 1860 Census for Appling Co., Georgia in the Southern Dist., Page 49 (Ancestry.com Image 49) and the 1870 Census for Charlton Co., Georgia, Page 44 (Ancestry.com Image 44).

Samuel served in the NC militia in the Revolutionary War, a few years after the war moved to Effingham county, GA. It is believed that Francis/Frank Sellers who is enumerated in the John Sellers' household 1850 Federal Census Appling County, GA is not a child of John and Kizzie Sellers as Francis/Frank age 16 was listed below their children as if another relationship than son. Their son John, who you say might be John Francis, was age 10 in the same census. By 1860 Francis/Frank is living in another household. I was published in the March 2007 "Southern Genealogical Exchange Quarterly" my research on this line (John and Kizzie). Betty Sellers Parrish co-author this research. You might find that article interesting.
