Dia dhuit! (I took some RTE courses some years ago)

I have been tracing my Fallin family back, it seems my line of "Fallins" come from Ireland to
Maryland in 1735 and then went thereafter to Virginia (the Danville area in Pittsylvania County). Redmond Fallon (Fallin etc) made his home on the sandy creek of the Dan river by 1745. I have a pretty solid research path from me all the way back to him, but, I don't know if he was from Ulster or further South? I do know that lots of Ulstermen (Scots and Irish, Welsh and English, Protestant and Catholic) were arriving in droves and setting up right behind the German hordes in Virginia (I also think the British used us as a human wall between the piedmont and the uh ... tidewater (the coast of Virginia, at that time, but it's just my crazy theory for now).

Comments about this story:
My Grandfather was Thomas Henry Follin, born in Virginia in 1878. He married Bessie Ann Follin [Auterback]. My Grandmother told me that she was 'Black Dutch' and that my Grandfather, 'Pap', was 'Black Irish'. Wonder if you have more information on the 'Black Irish'?
