Charles Maguire Waldron was a charter member of the Postal Letter Carriers Association. In the 1920's he worked in Manhattan and represented the district at the opening of Grant's Tomb on the upper west side of the city. He and his wife "Lizzie" were married in 1889 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Manhattan and shared their lives with four children. Charles A. was born in 1890, "Molly" in 1892, Joseph in 1893 and John Anthony in 1896.
Most of the family lived and worked in the city or in nearby, New Jersey. Grandma was "famous" for her prayerful vigils, homemaking and philosophy, summed up in her saying: "Take a little longer, do a little less and you'll last a little longer to do a little more". Her patience was legendary and their family is too!
