I'm a mmember of the Barber Family. But my story is a bit unusual. I was born in Detroit MI.
to James and Dorothy Barber so I thought. When I was ten years old my father told me I wasn't his daughter. My mother Dorothy Adcock Barber was in the kitchen. She came out with anger on her pretty face. They talked for a long time. As for me I was in shock I ran to my room and hid in my closet crying. Nothing more was said to me. As mother and dad had a way of pretending everything was just fine. After my father passed away my mother told me I was adopted. James Barber was my uncle. they had both wanted a child very much. I found out my birth mother was James Barber's niece. Channing Evans. I always thought she was my first cousin her mother Bea Barber who I thought was my aunt was actually my Grandmother, I didn't learn the truth until I was forty-five. I'm proud to be a member of the Barber family but all of this caused alot of pain and sorrow, I recently had my DNA tested as I don't know who my birth father is I thought this could shed some light on the subject of course it couldn't give his name but it could give me some ethnic background, I found out I am 26% middle eastern something that came as a big surprise. The Barber's are not middle eastern so my unknown father had to be. If any of you Barber's have any information concerning me I would appreciate any and all.
