My great grandfather Benjamin Harrison Stanton had an iron foundry there. He lived 1841-1911 and was married to Martha White (1858-1910). Their daughter Lucretia Ann married James C. Taylor. Their son Howard Taft Taylor was my Dad.
Stantonville , Tn. is supposedly named for GGF Stanton. This is as far back as I can trace; but have heard that Edwin Stanton (Sec. of War under Lincoln) is related to us. Would love to find out more on this line of Stantons.
