My grandfather Donald MacLeod (birth Date and place unknown) married Catherine Carmichael born 1877 Kildalton & Oa,Islay around the late 1800 - early 1900s.
Catherine was the third child of Dugald Carmichael (a farmer), and Flora Carmichael (MS McMillan) were gaelic speakers only, also of Kildalton
Dugald was the second child of Peter Carmichael born 1811/2 (a croftor of 4 acres), and Flora Carmichael.
Flora was the seventh child of Archibald MacMillan born 1808 (manager of Distillery) Lagavulin, Kildalton and Lilly (or Lilias/n) Mcmillan.
Peter may be the son of Donald and Catherine Carmichael (MS unreadable), born 3/8/1812
More to come.
