- My name is Gema (Avery) Kaminer. I was adopted. My adopted family names I'm researching are Avery, Suprise, Reichow, Hitz. Avery: John>Robert>Adam>Marlin Eugene (my Dad). My gr gr grandparents John & Mary (Derry) Avery came to America from their native England in 1869 & settled in Ottawa Co., OH. With them came son Robert, daughter Christiana & Son-in-Law George Bristow. Soon after Robert brought over wife Anna (Dawson) Avery & 4 children born in England; John, Thomas, Mary & Anna. Two more children were born in OH; Lewin & my grandpa Adam. Grandpa Adam married Grandma Delina A. (Suprise) Avery. Grandma was one of the youngest of 8 known children to Napoleon "Joseph" & Scholastique Rose "Delima" (Aubry) Suprise, also of Ottawa Co., OH. Both of my gr grandparents were born in Quebec, Canada & French Canadian. All of their children were born in Ohio. Until a couple of weeks ago I'd been unsuccessful in locating any info on my Gr. Grandparents until finding a cousin in TX who has extensive information on the Suprise / Surprise / Surprenant family...
My adoptive Mom's line is also alittle vague. It's sad that I've learned more about her & her family after she died than I knew about them while she was alive. My parents divorced when we were very young. Much of this I've found online: Hailed from Albion, MI, Reichow; Carl>August>Floyd>Barbara June (my Mom.) Wirebaugh: Henry>Emmitt>Ella M. (my grandma.) Gr. Floyd & Ella (Wirebaugh) Reichow had two daughters, Barbara June & Paula Wave. (We found my Aunt Paula after 41 years in 2002.)
As I said I was adopted. After my Dad died, I decided to search for information about my missing aMom whom we hadn't heard from in 41 years. I was hoping to get some information from her about my sister & my adoptions. Unfortunately we found that she had died in 1998. My Aunt was found however, & long story short my birthmother was located alive & well after 4 months. I found out who I am & where I came from. We reunited on Oct. 7, 2002 by phone, & Jan. 9, 2003 f2f in FL, my sister, grandson & I. So now we have more family history.
I was born Melody Lane Fee. The Fee line comes from Ireland possibly to PA & KY from the 1700's on. My Mom's Fee line is: John>John>David>Preston Scott>Abner C.>Silas Woodson>Ross Morris>Beulah Joyce (my Mom.) This is my Grandma's line of Gross family: Edmond>Abijah>John Bradley>Madeline Viola (my Grandma.) My Grandpa Ross Morris Fee married Madeline Viola (Gross). As for my 'named' birthfather John 'Johnny' Joseph in KY, well....I won't go there.
