Description: I was in D company 504th airborne infantry I served in the heavy weapons platoon as a mortar gunner.I was in Mainz from 1960-1962,I was in wintershield and in the process of trying to rescue other troopers in a small town we found ourselves surrounded.Four of us escaped and hid out for the remainder of the excersise.We got caught on the last day and when most of our clothes were being taken the excersise ended,ALL OVER,
