This is a filling breakfast "cereal".
Ingredients:
8 (1912) soda crackers (3oz. 2007)
2 cups milk
3 eggs separated
sugar to taste
vanilla to taste
Break crackers in a large bowl.
Start warming milk in a saucepan (never bringing it to a boil).
Beat egg whites stiff. Beat yolks.
Just before milk begins to boil, spoon drop egg whites into milk. Cook for about 30 seconds. With slotted spoon, remove whites from milk and place atop crackers.
Add yolks, sugar and vanilla to milk. Cook for another 30 seconds.
Remove "sauce" from stove and pour over egg whites and crackers.
Let crackers absorb sauce.
Serve either warm or cold.
