MY GRANDFATHER, TOLD ME THAT HIS FATHER TOLD HIM THAT THE TOWN OF WICKENBERG AZ WAS INDIRECTLY NAMED AFTER HIS FAMILY.
HIS NAME WAS GEORGE WICKENBERG, HIS FATHER JOHANNES WICKENBERG CAME WITH HIS BROTHERS ( 5) FROM SWEDEN TO THE U.S. TO MAKE THEIR FORTUNE BY COMEING TO THE WEST TO SEARCH FOR GOLD LIKE ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE.
ONE OF THE BROTHERS WAS SHOT IN THE BACK ALONG WITH HIS FRIEND AT THE WHAT CAME TO BE KNOWN AS THE VULTURE MINE,

A MAN NAMED HENRY HEINRICH SAID HE FOUND THE BODIES AND QUICKLY LAID CLAIM TO THE MINE, AND CHANGED HIS LAST NAME TO WICKENBERG, THUS BECOMING A VERY WEALTHY MAN AND NAMED THE TOWN WICKENBERG.
GUESS YOU MIGHT SAY THAT CRIME DOES PAY.
