Kristin L. (Banerjee) Ames
Kristen Banerjee is the daughter of Salil Kumar Banerjee and Carol Lynne Vines. With an IQ of 164, she gained recognition as an 11-year-old premedical student attending Lee College in Baytown, Texas. Kristen's achievements brought her to the attention of Johnny Carson, who interviewed her on episode 36 of season 27 of "The Tonight Show". At that time, she was the youngest college student in Texas. In 1988, there were articles written about Kristen, such as She May Perform Minor Surgery and 11-Year-Old in College Dreams of M.D. Degree, both of which highlighted her remarkable accomplishments. Peter Ashmun Ames
Lieutenant Peter Ashmun Ames was one of the British Army Intelligence officers based in Dublin Castle [members of "The Cairo Gang"] operating against the IRA in Ireland, who were assassinated by members of Michael Collins's "Squad", on the morning of "Bloody Sunday", 21 November 1920. Son of Elias Hurlbut Ames and Eleanor Grey Bushnell Ames. Born at Titusville, Pennsylvania, USA. Died at 38, Upper Mount Street, Dublin. He joined the Grenadier Guards as a cadet in 1917, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on 29th August 1917. He relinquished his commission on 1 April 1920. On 25 April 1920, he was given a special appointment as a Class 2 Lieutenant in the Intelligence Section of the Auxiliary Forces in Ireland ["The Black and Tans"]. Although officially recorded by CWGC as a World War 1 death, he actually died during the Irish War of Independence. Also buried in the same cemetery is, Lt. George Francis Bennett for further details, see The Cairo Gang Peter Ames was killed at 38 Upper Mount Street, Dublin, by Vinny Byrne. Death Certificate. Ashmun Ames, age unknown a bachelor, a Military Officer, died on 21 November 1920, at 28 Upper Mount Street, Dublin. The cause of death was Shock and Haemorrhage, caused by Gunshot Wounds, Verdict of Murder against person or persons unknown. His death was registered on 4 December 1920, on foot of a Certificate received from a Military Court of Inquiry, held on 22 November 1920. Patrick Moran was convicted and executed for the murder of Ames, although there is evidence that he was innocent of this murder, but was present at the assassinations of Capt. Patrick MacCormack and Wilde in the Gresham Hotel On 21 Nov. 1920, The New York Times published an Engagement Notice EWING - AMES The engagement is announced of Peter Ashmun Ames, Grenadier Guards, Special Reserve, the youngest son of the late E.H. Ames and of Mrs. Ames of Speedwell, Morristown, N.J. to Miss Millicent Orr Ewing, the only child of the late Major James Alexander Orr Ewing, Sixteenth Lancers, and Lady Margaret Orr Ewing, 9 Hill Street, Berkeley Square, London. Margaret Orr Ewing married Sir John Francis Roskill Reynolds on 22 November 1921. She died on 23 November 1931, aged 32
Lee Judah Ames
Artist, Illustrator. He was regarded as one of the first generation of modern artists of comic book illustration and comic art instruction. In the summer of 1938, he got his first job at a sign advertising agency in New York City. After his High School graduation in 1939, he entered a contest the Disney organization was running to find new artists, won and relocated to Los Angeles, California. There, he worked in capacity of illustration for Mickey Mouse cartoons and on the feature films of "Fantasia" and "Pinocchio". Homesick, he returned to New York, got into comic book art working for The Spectre and other strips for DC publications. After serving in the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant during World War II, he worked for most of the major comic publishers including Timely, Archie, Harvey, Hillman, EC and was a main contributor to Classics Illustrated comics of the 1950s. Through the 1960s and 1970s, he enjoyed an immense success with his line of the twenty-six series "Draw 50" books, which taught generations of children how to draw elephants, tigers, dogs, fish, birds and many more. He spent his later years mostly promoting the many other books he wrote, conducting lectures and teaching art techniques.

Reginald (Reggie) was very funny and gave freely of his time to anyone who needed a hand. He loves his children dearly (Stephanie, Jeffrey, Margaret, Craig and Michelle; and several grandchildren) - lost first born, a boy, before he was a year old). Married to Evelyn Lenentine Ames (originally of Island Falls) in the mid 50s and then to Dr. Ethelle Lord in 1988 (originally of Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada). He lived in Presque Isle for many years where he raised his first family. Then he to the town where he grew up as a young boy and enjoyed living in Mapleton with his second family. Dr. Lord (born on March 20, 1947) has one son, Tyne Sansom (from her first marriage in Canada) and several grandchildren all living in New Mexico. Reggie spent a short time serving in the Navy; then attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle; worked the Shapiros in their general store before joining the USPS where he retired in early 90s. After his retirement, Reggie served as dog catcher and the sewer district in the town of Mapleton. As dog catcher, he would keep a dog for at least a few days to study their temperament and then write a short description of the dog before turning it in at the animal shelter in Presque Isle. Every dog he ever turned in were adopted because they came with a short history. Story based in fact: He used to tell the story about Earl Rideout who walked everywhere, usually with his mother in tow. One day Earl was walking from Presque Isle to Fort Fairfield (a 20-minute drive by car). Someone recognized Earl, slowed down and asked him "where are you going?" Earl responded "I'm going to Fort Fairfield". "Do you want a ride? I'm driving to Fort Fairfield" responded the driver. "No, thank you. I'm in a hurry" responded Earl with all seriousness.
