Just discovered our connection to Peregrine White of Mayflower thanks to help from the lovely ladies at the Wesfield Athenaeum in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts. Adbner White was fifth generation after Peregrine. One of his sons, James, fathered James Monroe White, father of James & Helen Hutchinson White, brother & sister.

If anyone knows any more about this James White, I'd appreciate knowing. Civil War rosters name two James Whites & I can't be sure which one is Helen's brother. One, a deserter, the other a shoemaker!
