Early Vaubels

These are the earliest records we have of the Vaubel family.

In 1865 John Fauble came to the United States from Germany. He was 29 when he arrived in the United States. He was a farm worker in Germany. He had several reasons for coming to United States. He heard there were better working conditions and better land. It is also been said he killed the man he worked for or the man who “owned” him. John Fauble changed his name when he came to the United States to John Vaubel. John married Caroline in 1867 when she was 17 and he was 31. In 1880 John moved his family to the Mapleton, MN area where they built a house and farmed. The house was still standing as of May 19, 1978. Probably the hardest time in John and Caroline’s life was the January of 1891 when four of their children died from diphtheria. The land near Mapleton MN that John and his wife, Caroline, had is still owned by Vaubel’s and is still farmed.
Not much is known about Caroline including her maiden name. She birthed 9 children but only 4 lived to adulthood.
I believe Mary married a Jakobe from the Jakobe lumber family.
Margaret Vaubel of Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio was born on December 10, 1873, and died at age 96 years old in December 1969.
John Vaubel of Mapleton, Blue Earth County, Minnesota was born on September 19, 1879, and died at age 87 years old in July 1967.
I don’t have any other info on John H. Vaubel
Adam Vaubel of Flaxville, Daniels County, Montana was born on November 25, 1881, and died at age 89 years old in August 1971.
I believe Edward and his wife lived on the home farm near Mapleton, MN.
Harry G Vaubel of Port Washington, Nassau County, NY was born on December 23, 1881 in Kings County, and died at age 84 years old on July 15, 1966.
