Walter died 20 Apr 1916 in Haverhill, MA and is buried in the Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill.

I have an old studio photograph of Walter AYER which was taken at the Anderson Studio in Haverhill, MA in 1896. Walter is identified as "Alderman Ward 1". Walter appears to be in his 60's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Walter and his family:
