Bonime Surname History
My branch of the family emigrated from Russia where the a name seems to have been Bonyamavitch, but I have a ciusin who believes in was formerly French--"Bonhomme". This seems possibe as the american equivalent is "Godman" which is a Jewish name. (When surnames became mandatory many Jews took names like Silverman, Goldman, Goodman-- to couteract the culturally held bad associations with Jewishness.)
Bonime is a very uncommon name. as far as I know all Bonimes America are related. It no doubt changed as the family migrated through Europe in the diaspora
