Morgan, and Franklin Morgan) from Lucinda's marriage to Delatus Morgan, and a half brother and sister (George and Martha) from Edward P. McKowan's marriage to Jane C. Smith, in Clear Lake Township, Webster County, Iowa. [EPM 17.] In the 1870 U. S. Federal Census, Helen Kendall Bonner is a 28 year old, white, married female. She is keeping house. Helen was born in Illinois. She lives with her husband, William, and two children, Blanch and Courtland, as well as Frank Morgan, her half brother, in Lyon Township, Hamilton County, Iowa. [WBo 03.] In the 1885 Iowa State Census, Hellen M. Kendall Bonner is a 40 year old, married female, born in Illinois. [HMKe 01.] Helen M. Kendall Bonner is found in the 1895 Iowa State Census as a 50 year old, white female. She was born in Illinois. No image of this census is available from Ancestry.com. [HMKe 04. In the 1900 U. S. Federal Census, Hellen M. Kendall Bonner is a 56 year old, white, married female. She has been married to William D. Bonner for 31 years. She has given birth to five children, all five of whom are living in 1900. There is no indication of employment or occupation outside the home. She was born in Illinois of parents who were both born in Pennsylvania. She reads, writes, and speaks English. She lives with her husband, William, and two children (Robert, Ella) in the town of Jewell, Lyon Township, Hamilton County, Iowa. [WBo 05.] In the 1910 U. S. Federal Census, Helen M Kendall Bonner is a 65 year old, white, widowed female. She is living with her son, William D. Bonner at 2027 Hartson Ave., Ward 1, Spokane, Spokane County, Washington. She was born in Illinois of parents both born in Pennsylvania. She reads, writes, and speaks English. Helen has given birth to six children, five of whom are still alive. She has no employ outside the home. William and his mother are listed respectively as brother-in-law and mother-in-law. Yet, William is also listed as single. Further, there is no one that I can find on the page on which William and his mother are found to whom they are related. I also checked other pages, but found nothing. This is a somewhat strange occurrence; but strange occurrences happen with censuses. Other people listed are: Walter, Lulu, Hazel Austin; Tom and Gertrude Rowan; C. R. Huck. [WDB 04.] In the 1920 U. S. Federal Census, Helen M. Kendall Bonner is a 75 year old, white, single, widowed female. She was born in Illinois of parents who were both born in Pennsylvania (this census indicates that he mother was born in Ohio - unfortunately, that is not necessarily true - born in Pennsylvania). She reads, writes, and speaks English. She has no employ outside the home. She lives near a William D. Bonner, whom I hypothesize is her son. Helen lives alone at 1107 Broad Street, 5th Ward, Spokane, Spokane County, Washington. [HMKe 02.] In the 1930 U. S. Federal Census, Helen M. Kendall Bonner is an 86 year old, white, single, widowed female. She was born in Illinois of parents who were both born in Pennsylvania. Helen does not live on a farm. She owns her own home through a mortgage. She has no employ outside the home. Helen reads, writes, and speaks English. She lives in Mead Township, Spokane County, Washington near her son, William. [HMKe 03.] Obituary Bonner, Helen M. --Age 91 years. Her home was at N6403 Market. She was a member of the Hillyard Congregational church and had lived in Spokane 25 years. Survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. W. H. McDonald of Iowa; 2 sons, C. A. Bonner of Wyoming and W. D. Bonner of Spokane; 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Sat., June 15 at 1 p.m. from the ALWIN CHAPEL at the HAZEN & JAEGER FUNERAL HOME, n1306 Monroe St., Rev. O. P. Shenefelt officiating. Interment Greenwood.
