I've "rescued" an old photograph of Rose BUTTS MEACHAM which was taken at the Chesley Studio in Pipestone, MN. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Rose appearing to be in her 40's at the time. In addition to her name, someone has also written "Bert's Sister" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Rose and her family:
Rosella R. or E. BUTTS MEACHAM was b. Sept 1860 in Wisconsin to parents Jacob Mann BUTTS (1835-1924) and Sarah A. LOOMIS (1839-1914). Rose was one of 8 children born to this couple including, William Henry; Rosella R.; Charles L.; Louella; Oscar S.; Sheridan; Hubert or Herbert A.; and Freeman or Freemon Decator BUTTS, all born between 1859 and 1878. Rose married Frank Asbury MEACHAM (1863-1939) on 3 Sept 1885 in Pipestone, MN and together they had three children including, Rolla King; Laurence Virgil; and Fletcher L. MEACHAM, all born between 1886 and 1894. Rose died 6 or 9 Feb 1954 in Hennepin Co. MN and is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing, MN.

This is my great grandfather Yarbrough on my mothers side. His first name is unknown (Elijah H Yarbrough?), as is the date and location of the photo. My mother's name is Nancy Sue (Cooper) Farris. Her mother was Berta Mae (Yarbrough) Cooper. Judy (Yarbrough) Stone was my grandmother Berta Mae's sister and another sister was Roxy (Yarbrough) Butts. The Bridger name is thick within the Yarbrough's & Coopers. They are a fun lot - the men wear kilts at the family reunions- it was brilliant. Do you know who this man was? Christina Hickman was a full blooded Osage Indian, she was adopted by a family by the name of Hickman, and they gave her the name of Christina, who lived in West Virginia. Christina Hickman was born in Tennessee, December 27, 1774, and passed away in Fountain County the 27th day of November, 1850. Christina and her husband had eleven children.
Christina met James Keeling, he was an English school teacher and trapper. He taught school for 30 years. He was born in West Virginia on April 4, 1769, and passed away, November 16, 1846, at Veedersburg, Indiana. Christina married James Keeling. They emigrated to Dayton, Ohio, Montgomery County in 1813, where they lived for sometime. In 1828, they moved to Van Buren Leep, Fountain County, Indiana. Their daughter, Margaret Keeling was married to (Our Great Grandfather) Philip Butt at Plymouth, Ohio by the Justice of Peace, Samuel Kerney, on June 12, 1823. Philip Butt was born December 27th, 1791 died May 2, 1866 age 74 years, five months and sixteen days. He was buried at the trinkle Cemetery, Veedersburg, Indiana. They had fourteen children.
Lewis Butts (our Grandfather) was born April 10, 1827, near Dayton, Ohio. When he was ten years old he moved with his parents and grandparents (the James Keeling's) to Veedersburg, Indiana. James Keeling, his Grandfather taught school as Veedersburg, Indiana. Lewis Butts met (our Grandmother) Miriam Whittier Rutledge, they married, and had eight children. Two of their children died very young, their names were Frankie [Franklin Hoover Butts] and Lula Butts.

Our Grandmother lived near Danville and Fithian, Illinois. Her Father, Abraham Rutledge was a Captain in the Black Hawk War at LaFayette, Indiana. His farm is still in the hands of relatives near Fithian, Illinois and LaFayette, Indiana.

Mash potatoes with sugar. Pat out enough mixture to cover marshmellows until covered. Roll covered Marshmellows and potato in crushed cornflake. Put on buttered pie pan and bake until heated.
