His desc. went by the name of COPELAND by the 14th Century in northern England in York and Lancashire. Many of the earlier desc. went to Ireland, Scotland with the Lancashire branch going to Massachuttes and Virginia by the mid 1600's.

The township of COUPLAND is named for him. All of his descendants migrated to York and then to Dolphinlee, Lancashire, England and then in the 17th Century migrated to Braintree, Mass. and to Jamestown, Virginia.
