My name is Niki Higdon-Dennis. I am the daughter of Tamara Smith of Alabaster, AL. and Dennis Higdon of Huntsville, AL. I was born in Huntsville Alabama on November 19, 1981. My father was in the Army and we were stationed there until about 1983 if I remember correctly. From there we moved to Stugart, Germany where my brother, Dusty, was born in March of 1984. Not long after that we moved back to Huntsville, Alabama. Around 1987 my parents divorced and my mother, brother and I moved to Alabaster, Alabama to live near my grandparents, Alma Casey Smith and LeRoy Smith. From there on we basically moved around the Jefferson and Shelby County areas until 1999, when we moved to Clanton, Alabama. About two and a half years later, I met my husband, Tony Dennis, we have been together for 6 years now. We have two beautiful little girls, Madison-5 and Kathryn-2. Tony works out of town building gas station canopies for SouthEastern Canopies. I am a stay at home mom, but I have also been taking online college courses and I am in the process of searching for schools and plan on enrolling in the nursing program as soon as I find the right school. Madison started Kindergarten this year, she loves it, and Kathryn is completly lost without her big sissy!
I have a huge family and I love them all to pieces, that is why I have decided to start researching our family history to see how we all connect and where we came from. My plan is to give them a family tree/scrapbook for Christmas this coming year, so I really need to get to work!! The plus side is that I love history and I can't wait to figure my own out!
The hard part is, I don't know much about my family outside of my immediate family.
So, if you have any information about any Casey's from Texas or Smith's, Higdon's, Roger's, Dennis' or Ancells' from Alabama; please, please contact me. Chances are, you may be my missing link!
