This is an old photo found in my grandfather's things after his death in 1960. We can only assume this to be his parents. Probably taken before 1890.
Could these people be a younger version of those in the other photo that I posted? We need to know their names and if they had other children besides my grandfather.

My grandfather died in 1960 and this photo was found among his things. The photo was made in Randleman North Carolina. My father never knew his grandparents so we assume that they were not living after 1930.

Now, as you can see, the family has more children (at least in the pic). The other picture was of a dark-haired man and his wife (hair worn in a pompador style and frilly blouse with puff-sleeves), a boy about 5 years and baby girl. In this picture the people are: Charles Street Maness; mother, "Sudie" Pridgen Maness; young child on her lap is George A, b. 1911 and died May 1917, child behind with hat is Hilda Ethlyn and the boy in front is Jarvis Teddie.

I have found an old cemetary in the woods (literally) in Mississippi. Only a few stones remain. One is for G.H. Maness, son of D & M Maness, died in 1912. Someone at some time has erected a fence around the grave to protect it I assume. Nobody locally knows anything about this cemetary. The old folks have all passed on. I am very curious about it and also would like to preserve it as much as I can. It is not platted and the loggers will get to it sooner or later.
There are Manesses in the phone book in Tunica and Olive Branch but nobody knows anything about it. Please reply if you have a clue..Thanks
