Nevett's father began his musical career in show business as a member of The Four Mints. Aubie then became the music minister of Northside Baptist Church in Weatherford and later at First Southern Baptist Church in Del City, Oklahoma, where he served fourteen years.
Nevett Mcswain married Patricia Lynet Pennington on January 7, 1988 in Dallas Texas and they had a daughter, Kelsie Annette Mcswain in 1992.
Nevett married again on June 10, 2000, marrying Stacy Campbell in Shelby County, Texas.
On July 7, 2007, Nevett married Janice C. Phillips in Smith Texas.
He died on September 29, 2007 at the age of 42.
