Per the Lasswade Parish records (page 443), William Oliphant of Loanhead passed away on December 13, 1853
He was buried in the Old Lasswade Cemetery (above the old Lasswade schoolhouse) per the original Parish Records. However, when I visited the cemetery in 2012, no headstone was visible.
